Unitus Community Credit Union
Unitus was established on July 24, 1937 to serve the employees of Pacific Telephone & Telegraph. Through the years the fundamental principle of "People Helping People" was extended to employees of numerous companies, those relating to the telecommunications industry as well as those not being served by another credit union that were located within 30 miles of our office.
Prompted by continued downsizing and fragmentation of the telecommunications industry, Unitus' Board of Directors sought a change in our membership charter. On April 2, 2001, the State of Oregon approved the new charter, and Unitus can now offer membership to people who live or work in the counties of Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, Marion, Polk, or Yamhill.
We're excited about our community charter as it will allow us to offer credit union services to many more individuals while, at the same time, improve service within a smaller geographical area. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve all the financial needs of our members. And, we look forward to growing as we welcome new members into our Unitus family.
